"What do you three do besides music?Go for drinks, just be in each others company. We’re part of the same social group. When we finished the first tour we’d been together for about two years and every day I’d see them more than anyone else, and I thought in my head ‘I might want some space and in the most loving way just not see them for a bit’, but after four days of being back home I was ringing them up asking what they were up to and if they wanted to hang out. I’ve known Romy since I was three years old and we’ve spent pretty much every day together since, and been friends with Jamie since I was 11, so we’re used to being with each other all the time."

Telegraph - Review of the "Night + Day" event

"After a setlist of songs about heartbreak, it was a fitting ending. To paraphrase their love-struck song VCR, the band were half in the daytime, half at night, finally by the sea and in the company of hundreds. More festivals should be like this."

About "Coexist album" - The adventurous "the xx"

The xx have described the sound of their forthcoming second album Coexist as "adventurous".

The trio, who won the 2010 Mercury Prize for their self-titled debut album, said the process of recording the follow-up had been "pretty relaxed".

Oliver Sim from the band told Radio 1's Zane Lowe "it was easy to do what we wanted".
The first single from the new album, Angels, is now out.

"The xx" on their relationship with each other

The xx - Oliver Sim, Romy Madley Croft, Jamie Smith Two of them met because their parents were friends. They were only two years old at the time. Maybe three. At that age, your parents choose your friends for you. The boy and girl went to nursery school together, then primary school, then college. When they were 15, they formed a band.

Oliver Sim Six years later, their band was nominated for the 2010 Mercury Prize. They were up against Paul Weller, Dizzee Rascal, Mumford & Sons and Laura Marling. They won. That was surreal. One of their songs, Intro, was sampled by Rihanna for Drunk on Love. That was even more surreal. The same song was used by the BBC during coverage of the British general election.
 They found that to be the most surreal of all. Throughout all this, they toured the world together, living in each other's pockets, but their friendship remained strong.
''I don't remember life before her,'' the boy says, uttering a line that could be a lyric from one of their songs.
